  1. Yes, I have a Facebook account. No, I don't have a Twitter account. I use neither as an educational tool. I want to use a blog or facebook to provide hyperlinks to all of my assignments and monthly calendars so students can easily determined what they have missed and acquire it thru my links. Since I am taking an online photography class, I want to post some of my favorite shots on the blog as well.

  2. 1. yes 2. No Twitter 3. I do now! 4.& 5. yes, Facebook for answering student questions out of the classroom 6. n/a &. I like the idea of using the blogging tool to bypass school restrictions and the Twitter idea for teaching succinct thinking and writing to the student. Also with blogging having students respond out of class to homework type assignments by responding to the blog. I wonder, can I limit what they read in other people's blog comments?

  3. 1. No. 2. No. 3. As of this morning, yes. 4. No. These tools may provide an addition source of communication between coworkers and administration, since my classroom is in a remote location, separated by my immediate supervisors.

  6. 1. Yes, I do have a facebook account, but it's used for keeping in touch with friends and family across the country.
    2. I do have twitter, but I don't use it as much as my facebook account
    3. I have a blogging account at wordpress, but I don't use it very often.
    4. I use none of these as classroom tools, mostly because facebook is blocked at our school, I haven't found opportunities to use twitter, and I haven't been in the habit of using blogs in a very long time.
    6. I can see uses for a blog in my classroom to use as a newsfeed for students to post political and economic news. (I teach Civics/Econ).

    1. I think your subject matter lends itself to using social media tools. A friend of mine is running for office. The first thing his staff did was to set up a FB and Twitter account for him.

    6. I've thought about using FB or maybe a blog for my weekly newsletter, but I worry about how much access my students have whent they're at home. I think it would be a great way to communicate with students and parents and let them know about upcoming tests/quizzes or events.
    7. I might create a blog that would remind students of assignments and when they are due as well as tests. I could also use a blog to tell parents about events coming up, post things we're working on, and things they could/should be practicing at home.
